About me
A journey carried in gold.
I was born in France and grew up in Brittany before moving to the Netherlands, where I studied jewelry making for four years at De Vakschool in Schoonhoven, known as the goldsmith school. My journey with jewelry began as a child, crafting with seashells (not always cleaned, lesson learned!) and later experimenting with colorful fimo clay necklaces that sparked interest in custom pieces, though I hadn’t yet discovered goldsmithing as a craft.

Once I did, I knew it was my calling. This passion took me to Paris, where I interned with renowned designer Agathe Saint-Girons. I worked from home and in a studio in Curaçao before opening my first Izao boutique in the Netherlands in 2020. After relocating, I opened my current shop in early 2022.
I find inspiration in everything: thoughts, colors, nature, fashion, even emotions. I’m drawn to ethnic design for its rich storytelling and the visible artistry behind each piece.
How it all started
From apprentice to atelier.
2004 - 2008
CRAFTING THE FOUNDATION
Completed formal training as a goldsmith at the School for Goldsmithing in Schoonhoven, mastering the fundamentals of craftsmanship.
2009
ISLAND MASTERY
Spent time in a traditional atelier in Bali, focusing on design and learning from their highly skilled, artisanal techniques.
2012
THE FIRST COLLECTION
Launched my own jewelry line from my living room, taking the first steps toward creating unique, handcrafted pieces under my own name.
2014 - 2020
ATELIER IN CURAÇAO
Relocated to Curaçao, working full-time as a goldsmith for a local atelier. During this time, I focused on repairs, which significantly refined my technical skills and eye for detail.
2017
OFFICIALLY FOUNDED

2020
BACK HOME
Returned to the Netherlands and registered Izao Jewelry with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce, opening my first atelier at Stadhuisplein, where I continued creating unique designs until 2021.
2021 - Present
A PLACE OF MY OWN
Opened my dream atelier at Waterloostraat in Kralingen, a cozy space where I craft jewelry with care, recycle old gold, and bring personal stories to life through bespoke designs.
